Granada is located on shores of Lago Cocibolca and it is one of the oldest cities of the American continent. It is famous by its history and colonial architecture. It is a calm, clean and safe city.

Granada was founded aproximately the eighth of December of 1524 by Captain Don Francisco José Hernández de Córdoba, one of the Spaniards that came to the new continent. The foundation of Granada was motivated by the exploration and recognition of the area between the lakes and so called Sweet Sea , in order to make possible the exploration and the location of a Strait that allowed the union of the two great Oceanic masses ( Atlantic and Pacific).

In 1995 Granada was declared historic and cultural patrimony of the nation. The historical evaluation of the city turns around periods and important socioeconomic facts in the development of the colonial city, those that physically materialized in its urban structure and kind of constructions (Colonial, Neoclasic).
